...I use signs to explore relative aspects of position, place, direction and scale. My method consists in stripping away conventional notions in order to question assumptions not based on perceptual information but upon learned cultural codes. The following questions are examined. How different can the same sign look? How similar can different signs look? What happens to scale when comparison is impossible?
