THERE / NOT THERE 

​The numerical sum below each digital print (in pencil on the lower lefthand corner of the print ) refers to the number of individual forms I constructed using the painting tools in an old bitmap program. Unlike photoshop, there is no layering.  As I added forms, the underlying ones disappeared. The only remnant of this process lies in the numerical sum. Contrary to computer logic, the resulting sum is unverifiable since it includes forms that never had physical existence but were instrumental in creating each pattern.
